In late January 2014 I joined forces with director Clint Lewis of Red Tape Pictures once again to shoot the All India Radio’s 2014 Remix music video “FALL” starring David Beamish and Gemma Brookes. Early in the planning stages of the clip it was decided that high speed black and white photography would suitably fit the mood and theme of the track, placing visual emphasis on the textures of objects crashing into the ground – an analogy of the relationship lost between the father and his daughter. The Sony NEX FS700 was decided for its ability to shoot full super 35mm high speed without crop-in compromises at such high speeds as 200 frames per second.
Martin Kennedy was very pleased with the outcome of the project – taking to Facebook to leave a great testimonial for the director, cast and crew:
Wow what a stunning video! Like the one you did for Steve Kilbey and I, it tells a story in a beautifully poetic way and really nails the music-images-mood dynamic. Can’t wait to do more!
